Shoes made for our Asian feet

    Rupert Sanderson Winona heel

Asian feet is what Ruper Sanderson is designing for. I guess the big question people have been asking is… well, are Asian feet different from Caucasian feet? I have to say, as I remember painfully trying to cram my foot into a Burberry heel, yes.

There’s already a problem, though. Bruton Limited, the Hong Kong company that manages the brand, claims that Asian feet are higher arched and narrower than other feet. But [at least one HK podiatrist] says otherwise; that Asian feet tend to be broader at the front and have more instances of flat foot (which personally, I have to agree with, I and a lot of other Asian women I know, have trouble with narrower heels).

Bruton Limited later admitted that they only used one woman’s feet for the mold, so it’s really too soon to say if these heels will really be any better for Asian feet. Still, the idea is solid, and a lot of companies and brands could run with the idea… that not everyone has the same kind of foot. We want high heel options! (And there’s a lot of money in that too.)

    High heels for baby

With a tagline of “her first high heels,” there’s no doubt as to what Heelarious is selling. As their name suggests, you have to have a sense of humor to put these on your kids. But while you’re not going to see any deadly stilettos here, the shoes are made of a crib-friendly fabric, soft (non-weight bearing) and of course, super cute. The story goes basically that they thought this would be hilarious idea, and it is– the shoe styles are even named after their own kids. Adorable! Shoes go for about $25.

I’m sure there will be people who think that this is stupid, but I gotta say, I think it’s fully aware how silly the idea is, making it wholly enjoyable. No reason why babies can’t look chic in heels too.

As Seen in Ann Arbor is BACK!

As Seen in Ann Arbor has been hard to keep going at times, which I admit, is totally on our end. It can be disheartening to set out for a day and look around for hours for someone who looks especially chic and put-together. But then, we thought about, and what about our FORMzine readers? They love looking fashionable, and it’s too bad we can’t catch you all the time!

So, starting now, As Seen in Ann Arbor will be full of photos that both we take, and that you take. Did you dress up tonight for a night on the town? Email us a pic! Did you see someone in class with a bag to die for? Secretly snap a cell phone pic and send it on over. Fashion disaster? Yup (although you may want to say that you want to stay anonymous, otherwise we’ll credit with your first name). We’ll post it all here.

You heard it, we want your pics: email us at AsSeeninAA@formzine.com <3

    Tired of Dre Beats?

As Beats by Dr. Dre continue to get more and more popular, it’s suddenly a lot less impactful to have the cool new look. But also, in the wake of the need for sweet looking headphones, other artists and company collaborative have began releasing their own headphone lines. The newest one is Soul by Ludacris, and Signeo is debuting this line of 5 headphones later this year.

The SOUL by Ludacris line debuts with the High Definition Professional SL300 Powered Noise Cancelling headphone, High Definition On-Ear models SL150 and SL100, and the SE99 and SE49 High Definition In-Ear headphones. The entire line contains professionally voiced sound technology with advanced circuitry and drivers designed by a team of engineers who have developed some of the most notable acoustic breakthroughs in the audio industry. Elements such as world-class noise cancellation technology and ultra precise audio mix balancing deliver deep bass without sacrificing clarity of mids and highs to provide a listening experience fit for a wide audience that reaches the business traveler or casual music lover to the pro musician or audiophile.

But it’s not just Luda, Sleek Audio has also partnered with 50 Cent to produce these sweet wireless headphones– carbon fiber exterior and everything. I’m a big fan of the look. They’re expected to be released later this year also, although not too much information has been released about them… 50 Cent has already leaked photos of him wearing them on his twitter though!

Harman AKG + Quincy Jones? Somehow the classy team-up make sense. Announced late last year, the “Quincy Jones Signature Line” has a similar line-up as the Beats; there’s a studio version, a smaller on-ear version, and buds. I have faith in AKG that these aren’t headphones that just look good, but probably sound great too. Currently available for pre-order, they’re going to available in a couple different colors: white, black, and that vibrant green.

Is this going to be a continuing trend? Honestly, I kind of hope so… headphone looks have needed an update for awhile, cans aren’t just for home-wearing anymore.

    Etch A Sketch a iPad

Turn your iPad into a retro toy. This Etch A Sketch case by Headcase is the perfect thing for making someone look twice at what you’re doing on your fancy new iPad. At $39 from Amazon, it’s pretty much a must-have. Also available in iPhone size (though personally, I don’t think it’s as effective for the awesome factor).

    Permanent brown bag lunch

Ok, so it’s no Mr. Bento, but this lunch bag brings us back to being a little kid again, when parents packed up our lunch and it was a total crapshoot to see if you got anything sweet inside. The Artifact Lunch Bag isn’t made of flimsy paper though; it’s made of waxed canvas, nylon stitching, leather, and copper rivets. A classy way to bring lunch to your place of business. $45. Photos from Artifact.

    Chic Beer Bottle Art

Beer bottles have gone hand in hand with artwork (gotta love Jolly Pumpkin’s bottle art) but a student from Iceland, Thorleifur Gunnar Gíslason, along with two other students, created an idea for a brewery’s artwork that is uniquely eye-catching. From:

“This beer brand concept was born on a sunday night at school where we were supposed to make a brand for a micro-brewery. The name is traditional Icelandic name that could be loosely translated into “thirsty one”.

The concept is a simple one. One beer, 10 different bottle designs by 10 different designers. The design would be changed annually. The design could be put on beer glasses as well. The design is limited to black graphics on a 33cl glass bottle.

This was the result from collaboration between three graphic design students at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.”

    Check out these sweet designs:

    Chic superhero accessories

nOir Jewelry and DC joined forces to create this awesome jewelry line, for their 75th anniversary, involving supercool superhero accessories that are heroically chic. They’re all limited edition, so you’ll want to snatch them up quick. In the coming months, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy pieces will be added to the collection.

You might have noticed the conspicuously-missing Green Lantern ring, which is to release along with the upcoming movie. Favorite? The Catwoman claw ring. Hot. Most of the pieces are priced anywhere from around $60-$300.
