Micron Brand Portal Redesign, Fall 2024/Spring 2025

An introduction…


A top priority for the Global Communications Team is Brand Management. An existing web portal for internal teams around the world and outside agencies is utilized daily to find, download and use brand assets for the corporate website, social media content, product launches and other B2B communications across various channels.

Project Summary


A Business Analyst on the team had already conducted some informal interviews with stakeholders across different roles and teams within the organization. From there, some high-level improvements were identified. These included:

  • Better search capabilities
  • Improved filter options
  • A more consistent use of tags for search and filtering
  • A more intuitive interface to preview and download assets
  • A unified approach to viewing Brand Guidelines (Move away from PDF)

My Role: Lead UX/UI Designer


As I was new to the team, I spent time becoming familiar with the existing Brand Portal and understanding how users approach various tasks associated with the Brand Portal.

I started to wireframe some possible solutions to an improved Brand Portal Experience. At the same time, I had several rounds of open discussions with Brand, Product and Marketing stakeholders about the needs of their teams and associated users.

Working closely with the Business Analyst, we generated some personas and tied those to specific pain points needing to be addressed.

Taking the existing wireframes created in Figma, I began to move to high-fidelity mockups utilizing known existing web components from the corporate website. During this process, many new components were created and will eventually make their way to the corporate website.

Designs


These current designs are considered final and under review by the Web Development team. Development is expected to begin early March. Business Analyst and team will begin to create Development tickets in Jira for the Development to work against.
